Spring 2008 Semester

Hello Fellow IDMI'ers,

Over the break the lab was cleaned, and reorganized. The computers are all in nice cozy setups, and allow every port to be reached without moving the computer, huzzah! What I hope to accomplish with moving the computers around is a nice clean work environment where no one has to move a computer out from under a desk to connect a peripheral. I would also like to ask that no one remove any cables (ethernet especially) from the computers, this keeps the computers running smoothly, and keeps me happy.

IDMI 3D Render Farm Testing

I have setup a render system in the IDMI lab. It's not working 100% at the moment, but I have had some success with rendering things on it thus far. At the moment, I can use one processor from each computer in the lab to render a file, approximately 25-30Ghz of computing power is available.

I am looking for people who have large render jobs that would like to test the system out. If you're interested, please e-mail me or stop by the lab when I'm around (usually M-W 10-6pm).

vBrooklyn Video Festival November 30-December 2

The vBrooklyn video-festival documents Brooklyn, NY's, evolving cityscape,
culture and people with contemporary video-art. It creates a forum
exploring Brooklyn as inspiration and - With Brooklyn itself the subject of
the festival - hopes to create symbiosis between the borough and the
resulting works.

IDMI User Passwords

Hello all IDMI students and Staff!

Today the IDMI servers were updated and unfortunately all user account passwords have been locked for some reason. If you use the lab macs, please do this before you attempt to log on them:

Goto http://bam.idmi.poly.edu
Fill out the information requested. If you want to reuse your previous password, you can try it, but the server may not allow it. We just need to update the password database again. Please do this ASAP!
