Biography

Claudia Hart completed undergraduate studies in art history at NYU and graduate studies at the Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture. Hart returned to New York in 1998 to publish two illustrated books, A Child's Machiavelli (Penguin; Abbeville; Nautilus) and Dr. Faustie's Guide to Real Estate Development (Nautilus). In 2001, she received a degree from New York University's Center for Advanced Digital Applications in Computer Animation, and shifted her practice to digital media. She has exhibited this work at Bitforms Gallery, NY, the Wood Street Gallery, Pittsburgh, Art Interactive, Boston, and the Exploratorium, San Francisco. Hart continues to publish critical writings, most recently presenting a paper at the College Art Association conference in Atlanta. She is currently Visiting Professor at Sarah Lawrence College, Adjunct Associate Professor at Pratt Institute and Stevens Institute, Hoboken, where she teaches 3D animation and character design.
