Spring 2008 Semester

Hello Fellow IDMI'ers,

Over the break the lab was cleaned, and reorganized. The computers are all in nice cozy setups, and allow every port to be reached without moving the computer, huzzah! What I hope to accomplish with moving the computers around is a nice clean work environment where no one has to move a computer out from under a desk to connect a peripheral. I would also like to ask that no one remove any cables (ethernet especially) from the computers, this keeps the computers running smoothly, and keeps me happy.

Another change, the tables in the center of the lab now have power strips drilled into them. They are nice and sturdy, and should support an entire lab full of people, if they don't, there are many power strips around the room for everyone. Please don't move them, or unplug them for your own use.

Finally, over the break everyone was sent an e-mail regarding the IDMI RAID system, the problems have been fixed; however, all user accounts were erased. You may all login to a computer using your normal method, but all of your previous data will not be there. I apologize for this, but it was the only thing that could be done at the time. If your password does not work, please go to http://bam.idmi.poly.edu and change it there.

I hope these lab changes make everyone comfortable, and allow the lab to remain clean, and I hope that everyone has a great semester.
